Finance Officer – NDIS Accounts & Claims

Are you an experienced Finance Officer with strong NDIS knowledge and hands-on PRODA and PACE experience? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, problem-solving, and purpose-driven work matter?

Our client are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join a supportive and values-driven team within the NDIS sector. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who understands the complexities of NDIS claims processing and wants to contribute to an organisation committed to delivering high-quality care and services.


About the Role

In this role, you will take ownership of NDIS claims processing, accounts receivable, reconciliations, debtor management, and compliance support. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth financial operations while supporting positive outcomes for participants and the broader organisation.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical finance skills with problem-solving, stakeholder communication, and process improvement.


Key Responsibilities

NDIS Claims & Processing

  • Process and manage NDIS claims through PRODA and PACE portals
  • Monitor claim statuses, resolve rejected claims, and manage follow-ups
  • Ensure all claims are accurate, compliant, and submitted within required timeframes
  • Liaise with NDIA regarding payment issues and claim adjustments

Accounts Receivable & Debtor Management

  • Maintain accurate debtor accounts and aged receivables
  • Follow up on overdue accounts and negotiate payment arrangements where required
  • Reconcile payments and investigate discrepancies promptly
  • Support month-end financial reporting and reconciliations

Compliance & Reporting

  • Support NDIS audit preparation and compliance activities
  • Prepare receivables and cash flow reports for management
  • Assist with financial analysis and reporting insights
  • Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiencies


About You

You are someone who:

  • Has previous experience working within the NDIS sector
  • Understands NDIS funding, claiming, and compliance requirements
  • Is highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
  • Can confidently manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Enjoys solving problems and improving processes
  • Communicates professionally and builds positive working relationships


Essential Requirements

✔ Previous experience in an NDIS finance/accounts role
✔ Strong working knowledge of PRODA and PACE portals (essential)
✔ Experience in accounts receivable, reconciliations, and debtor management
✔ Strong Microsoft Excel skills
✔ Excellent communication and organisational skills
✔ Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team


Desirable

  • Experience with Xero and/or NetSuite
  • Qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Experience working in high-volume transactional environments
